3rd Annual Sacred Music Symposium • Register now!

Sacred Music is vitally important in the heart of our Catholic Liturgy. It is rooted deeply in our traditions and a vital part of our mission in promoting the Latin Mass. We are proud to endorse the 2018 Sacred Musical Symposium, sponsored by FSSP-LA and Corpus Christi Watershed.

Each year, we our honored to have a variety of talent individuals share their experience and expertise in the fields of chant of polyphony, as well as tips and advice on how to conduct and administrate a choir. If you are interested in improving your skills in the arts of Sacred Music, we highly recommend this once a year Symposium. Space is extremely limited, so it is important to register early, before the March 31st. Deadline.

To receive your application, kindly email dom.mocquereau@gmail.com before the deadline. Thanks to a generous grant, the conference fee is just $85.00—in addition to the mandatory application fee. Purchasing the meal plan ($145) is recommended, so that you can enjoy a week of catered meals. During the same week, at the same location, the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter will be conducting an Altar Server training camp and private instruction for priests. (Information on these will be released soon.) For more information, visit the official site at http://www.ccwatershed.org/symposium/

Servus Sevorum Dei

We are proud to announce our new forum is now up and running. Servus Sevorum Dei (borrowed from the one of the titles of the pope) will be a network that people can join to hear about the latest announcements in and around the Latin Mass Communities of the Los Angeles area. People will also be able to post Mass Times and events, as well as ask questions and give suggestions to help with the board.

Servus Sevorum Dei will have all the information that would normally be published on facebook, so you will not have to go onto public media in order to find the Mass times. This will keep everything securely  “in house”, and it will be safe for the whole family. You will be able to make comments or corrections as neccessary to provide accurate information.

We ask that you help keep this forum clean, feel free to make suggestions, and of course we are always in need of help. To register, please fill out this form to get started.

Feast of the Epiphany & Blessing of Water, Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh

img-Feast-of-the-Epiphany[1]Please feel free to forward this to everyone!

It’s that time of year! Something you may have never experienced this before!!!!!!!

Tuesday, January 5th, 2016 at St. Victor’s @ 6PM, we will have the Blessing of Epiphany Water followed by Mass with Father Fryar.

Please keep in mind at St. Victor’s, we will be starting at 6 PM (Unlike our usual time of 7 PM)

The ceremony for the blessing of the Epiphany Water is the most intense Holy Water blessing, involving a chanted minor exorcism over the water. This is a very powerful sacramental against the devil.  The ceremony takes about 45 minutes.

Last year, I made the mistake of saying to bring empty bottles (Mea Culpa). Please bring full bottles, but only enough to last you for 1 year. Father will bless the water in your containers.

Following the Epiphany Water blessing, Father Fryar will bless the Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. If you have any article of gold that you would like to have blessed with this blessing, feel free to bring it.

Following the Blessings, we will have benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

The next day, Wednesday, the 6th of January, Father Fryar will celebrate the Mass of the Epiphany at 7 AM at the Bethany House Chapel (across from Saint Victor’s).
